The load-hoisting mechanism has a load hook raised and lowered in a housing. The hook (5) swings away from its opening about a horizontal spindle (9) and in a member set down and supported on the load to be lifted. The spindle, with the hook and the member (4), moves up and down for a limited amount in the housing (3). in the latter are a thrust bolt (8) and lever (6) forming a deflector mechanism working with the hook, also a locking mechanism (11-23) securing the member to the housing for each lift.
