The hydraulic lifting or thrusting mechanism has a piston fixed to a rod and a laminated cylinder with flexible inner and outer walls. The end of the cylinder is sealed by a head sliding on the piston rod and determining the amount of movement. The space between the inner cylinder wall and the layer surround it is sealed off.
