PURPOSE:To automate the formation of perforations on printing paper and the cutting of the printing paper simply and at high response speed by a mechanism wherein a groove portion in the same direction as the sweep direction of a printer head formed on the surface of a platen and a dot wire facing to the groove portion are mounted. CONSTITUTION:A groove 5 into which a dot wire 3 for cutting printing paper or forming perforations is inserted is made up to a platen 4 in the same direction as the moving direction of a printer head 1. Print pulses are continuously generated and dot wire 3 is successively impact-driven until printer head 1 passes on printing paper 7 (T560) after just before head 1 crosses on printing paper 7 (T420), thus allowing the cutting of printing paper 7 at the portion. Perforations can be built up on printing paper 7 by intermittently impact-driving dot wire 3. |
