<p>The data carrier, e.g. a bubble memory, consists of a square plate whose edges have access points for the stored data. The type of data accessed depends on the edge of the plate i.e. different edges access different types of data, e.g. data for classical music, data for popular music etc. The plate is inserted into a holder with the edge corresponding to the wanted type of data facing the rear of the holder. To prevent data being destroyed, the holder or reader/writer contains a disabling line that effectively disconnects the lines to the plate.</p> |
