The arrangement is intended for a top-entry silo emptying device (10) carried by a cable (14) which is suspended from an overhead travelling crane controllable from outside the silo. The elevator tube (11) is preferably telescopic. Near the lower end of the tube there are two cable pulleys (12) in vertical planes and at least one horizontal pulley (15). The cable comes down on one side of the tube, runs around the pulleys (12, 15, 12) and up again on the other side of the tube. The pulleys may be carried by a bracket (13) fixed to the device (10) or to the lower end of the tube (11).
