A temperature responsive control device such as may be fitted to a ventilator for a greenhouse comprising two pivoted members 1, 11 one of which (1) supports a load and operating means including an SME (Shape Memory Effect) element which changes its shape within a transition temperature range to cause the member which supports the load to pivot with respect to the other member. The SME element may be in the form of a coil spring 45 surrounding a damper mechanism 37, 53. When the temperature rises, the spring 45 applies a force to the spring seat 49 and a thrust pivot 55 to move one of the two pivoted members (11) about its pivot pin 9 to open the ventilator. <IMAGE> |
