The sun blind is composed of slats, and has a hollow top beam with a supported raising shaft which is U-shaped in cross-section. Around this shaft can be wound or unwound a number of cords to raise or lower the plates. The slats are also connected to one or more ladder cords, and the connecting part of each of these cords is wrapped around one or more points on the raising shaft or a component attached to it. The motivation of these ladder cords occurs exclusively through friction between the windings of the connecting part and the relative shaft part.
