<p>The invention provides a metal cutting machine having a transverse bridge, a master cutting torch assembly suspended from the bridge, and a drive arrangement for selectively moving the assembly along the bridge between its ends. A torch bar is disposed to one side of the bridge so as to extend parallel thereto and a plurality of slave cutting torch assemblies are suspended from the torch bar and are freely movable therealong. A support mounts the torch bar for normally free movement along the bridge independent of the master torch assembly and a service cable arrangement is connected to the cutting torch of each assembly. A festoon arrangement including a framework provides overhead support for the cable arrangement. The framework is arranged for movement along the bridge in unison with the torch bar. In this manner, the length and wear of the supply cables can be substantially reduced.</p> |
