<p>A machining tool for a moving thermoplastic body, having an elongated flattened knife-like shape, formed of metal having a good thermal conductivity, and heated by indirect heating means, and adjustable mounting means for moveably positioning such tool relative to the moving plastic body. In one form the machining tool has a special shape bent in two places at right angles to provide upper and lower vertical portions offset from each other, and a horizontal intermediate portion, so as to form a lengthwise ridge or notch in the plastic body. Preferably the heating means consists of an electrical heating element at one end of the machining tool.</p> |
