PURPOSE: To produce the subject relatively rigid panel comprising different kinds of fibers selected so as to drive one kind of the fibers to the surface of the final product in a needle-punching process without manifesting gloss or a fused region on the surface after heating in a molding process. CONSTITUTION: This fiber panel is obtained by dropping different uncompressed fibers dropped from plural fiber bins 20, 26... onto a transfer means 22, forming a loosely consolidated batt 30 with a carding means 28, feeding the resultant batt 30 to a needle loom means 32 having an array of barbed needles reciprocating in an up and down motion hooking high-propensity fibers with the barbs of the needle loom, moving the high-propensity fibers to one side of a cloth material, heating the needle-treated batt 36 with an oven 56, fusing the resultant batt 36 to adjacent other kinds of fibers and applying a contour of a prescribed shape with a molding means 58. |
