<p>Hardenable ethylene-propylene rubber having improved thermal shock resistance and good electrical and physical properties comprises (in wt. pts.) 80 pts. semi-crystalline EP rubber, 10-40 or 10-50 pts. amorphous EP rubber, 50-150 pts. hydrated alumina. 10-30 ZnO, 0-45 pts. paraffin, 0-15 or o-15 pts. polychloroprene, 32-8 pts. anti-oxidant, 0-5 or 0.5-5 pts. vinylsilane and 2-8 pts. peroxide crosslinking agent. The compsn. is prepd. by first mixing the components except crosslinking agent and vinlysilane for 9 mins. at 120-150 degrees C. After cooling, the crosslinking agent and the silane are added and mixed for 2-4 mins.</p> |
