<p>The system fills bottles with fluid by vacuum, the fluid being kept under vacuum, while a vacuum is also generated in the bottles, so that on equalisation fluid starts to flow into the bottles. Dependent on the consistency of the fluid, the vacuum generated in the bottles is either equal to, or higher than that above the fluid. The bottles can be accommodated in an annular channel divided into sections and connected by fluid and vacuum pipes to a filling vessel. On the latter is a further vacuum pipe, which can be connected to a igh-vacuum source (14). This pipe is connected at one end to the filler unit vent pipes (16), and at the other can be connected to, or cut off from the main vacuum pipe (8) by a changeover mechanism.</p> |
