The discharge valve fits into the base of a silo and consists of a chute (1) which covers a rotary valve or screw feeder (9). The screw feeder fits inside a tubular casing (8) which is opened at the top. The valve is contained by A-shaped end plates (10). The valve consists of two plates (4) hinged together along the horizontal centre line (3) and resting at the ends on the plates (10). The valve is opened by lifting the plates with the tie bars (6) which may be connected to a hydraulic cylinder.
