The support tray is made from plastics material pressed into shape while hot i.e. by vacuum forming. It can take the form of a tray which will fit around the base of the articles on one side and the top of the articles on the other, to effect complete wedging action in the packing. The tray allows for the mechanical operation of filling cases of articles and may be reused. The articles are prevented from touching during normal transport handling reducing the risk of breakage or damage.
