The top of each leg is rigid with a ring (6) provided with a fork (6a) between the arms of which there is loosely seated one end of the cross-arm of a cruciform. The upright bar of the cruciform is mounted at its upper and lower ends in the body of the doll in such a way that it can rotate about its longitudinal axis to as extent limited by forks on the legs. The upper end of the upright bar may rest in a bearing provided in the upper part of the body or be rotatable with a sleeve on which the head of the doll is fitted. The head will turn from side to side, appearing to look in the direction of that leg which is moving forward.
