<p>The mechanism transfers individual heavy long objects, partic. billets, from a supply and along an inclined track to a longitudinal conveyor such as a series of rollers. It comprises a transfer slide with support jaw which receives an individual billet from the supply when the slide is in its uppermost position along the track and deposits it on the rollers as the slide travels down the track to its lowermost position. The slide may be reciprocated by the piston rod of a hydraulic cylinder actuator, which may be coupled to the slide via pivoted link arms.</p> |
