A machine for cleaning floors incorporates a vacuum cleaner and hot-water spray. The machine is mounted on a trolley with a raised platform supporting a tank for receiving used water. An electric motor mounted below the platform drives a fan which sucks air out of the tank and out of the pipe which is connected to the cleaning head. Cleaning water with a detergent is supplied from a heated clean water tank and delivered to nozzles in the cleaning head via the pipe. A machine can be connected directly to the hot water supply of the building where it is being used or it can be operated independently from water stored in the tank.
