The heat recovery surface is intended for collecting solar energy, heat from air, or rain etc., and is thus usable all year roundd. It has collectors absorbing energy from the environment imparted by imparted by radiation or convection. All collectors are of the same shape and form a mixture of covered and uncovered units, having mountings for covers (10) which can thus be easily fitted or removed as desired. The design allows collection of solar energy by day and use as part of a heat pump by night.
