<p>A number of outstations (US1 ....) send routine data simultaneously over their own individual channels to a recorder (E) in a central (1). There is also a single control channel from the central, connected to the outstations in series. Each outstation has a logic (L) controlled switch (K1 ....) which can disconnect the control channel from all later stations in the series. The central can interrupt the routine data transmission to call for spontaneous reports by sending an interrogation signal over the control channel. Any outstations with such data to report (US2, US4, Us5) respond by opening their switches (K2, K4, K5). The first (US2) then sends its data and afterwards closes its switch (K2). The next (US4) follows suit and so on. The central then removes the interrogation from the control channel and normal simultaneous transmission is resumed.</p> |
