The telecommunications equipment (14) is arranged in bats (13). A cooling system is arranged along the longitudinal direction of the bays. In the bays is a base (12) which forms an air channel. The base (12) has a long slot (8) which allows pressurised air (20) to rise from the channel upwards into the bays. Parallel to the base is a plate (15) which deflects a first current of air (21) from the slot into the bays. The plate (15) lets a second current of air (23) from the slot flow upwards along the outside (13) of the bays.
