PURPOSE:To obtain a screen easy to see, by turning on and off high band compensation of the color signal according to necessity. CONSTITUTION:In case that input information changes as blue-black-red, correlation between change of luminance signal YW and change of red and blue signals does not exist, so that high band compensation of the color signal must be inhibited. Inhibition circuit 15 is provided in the output stage of high band compensation signal R-YH forming circuit 10. Inhibition circuit 15 is controlled by control circuit 20. Control circuit 20 is operated on a basis of division result SW between low band color difference signal R-YL and the primary differentiated output of low band luminance signal YL. If correlation between change of the luminance signal and change of the color difference signal exists, signal SW is constant approximately, and inhibition circuit 15 outputs color signal (R-Y)H subjected to high band compensation. In case of no correlation, signal SW is not constant, and then, inhibition circuit 15 operates to inhibit high band compensation. |
