<p>Prodn. of insoluble metal complexes of formula (I) (R, R1, R2, R3=H, 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy, Cl, Br, Cf, or phenyl; M=Cu, Co or esp. Ni; Z is NH, O or S; A -is the equivalent of an anion) comprises reacting the corresp. 1 - imino- 3-(4- imino-5- thiazolidinylidene) isoindoline (II) with a Zn halide in protic solvent. Resulting Zn halide adduct (A) is isolated and reacted with MA2 in strongly polar aprotic solvent. Pref. the protic solvent is 1-15C alkanol, glycol 1-4C alkyl mono ether or esp. water. (I) are pigments for paints and plastics. Use of expensive aprotic solvents such as DMF in the first stage is avoided without loss of pigment quality.</p> |
