The container for gas bottles is carried on the towbar of a caravan. It presses against the caravan front, has a griller type frame and a lining of plastics material. The bottom (3) and back (2) of the frame are of grille construction. The side walls (4, 5), cover (6) and outer wall (7) are hooked to the rear wall (2). The longitudinal rods (12, 13) of the back (2) are embedded. Those of the base (22, 23) are bent more than 90 deg. The longitudinal rods (12, 13) are shifted towards the edges relative to the other longitudinal rods. The cover (6) and outer wall (7) are joined by a hinge (10).
