<p>The base of the basket is provided with holes, which are closed by a plate (29) located in the tank when the basket is immersed in the electrolyte in the tank. Plate (29) is pref. fixed to the base of the tank via flexible strips, so it can float through a prescribed vertical distance in the tank; and the plate (29) may be fitted with extension pieces partly covering the workpieces during electroplating. The basket can be rapidly filled and drained when immersed in, and removed from, the electrolyte; but selective electroplating of the workpieces in the basket is possible. Useful for plating bearing shells etc.</p> |
