A hypodermic syringe for the extn. of blood and other body fluids from patients is equipped with a sheath, made of a deformable plastic and with a small bulb contg. a sterilising agent at the end. During use the bulb is pierced by the needle and thus automatically sterilises the puncture. It also hides the needle which often frightens patients specially children. It is also suggested, when extracting blood, to dye the syringe cylinder so that the red blood colour does not frighten the patients. |
