The contact spring comprises a single sheet metal stamping which has a U-shaped cross-section at one end (10). The base (12) of the U contacts the head of the contact screw beneath the spring, while each arm (11) has a projecting spring fork (15) extending at right angles to the plane of the U. These two spring forks (15) cooperate to provide the socket contact gripping the pin which is inserted in a direction parallel to the length of each arm (11) of the U. Pref. the contact spring is made of Cu alloy, while each spring fork (15) has an initial section angled inwards, ancurved section defining the socket (17) a straight section in contact with that of the other fork (15) and an end section bent outwards and backwards.
