PURPOSE:To prevent the operation of a system from getting abnormal on the whole by using as the method of exercising a mutual supervision between CPU's a common external memory unit stored with common data of a CPU system and making use of them for mutual processing, besides a computer coupler. CONSTITUTION:From 1st computer CPU1 to 2nd computer CPU2 via computer coupler CLC, a fixed inquiry signal is sent at fixed intervals of time and in response to the inquiry signal, CPU2 sends a fixed answer signal back via coupler CLC. Then, a mutual supervision over whether CPU's 1 and 2 are in normal operation is exercised by judging whether the answer signal and inquiry signals have been inputted within the fixed time interval. To those CPU's 1 and 2 exercising the mutual supervision, common external memory unit GM is connected in common and this unit GM is stored with the inquiry and answer signals. Then when the inquiry and answer signals are sent out via coupler CLC, the signals stored in memory unit GM are read and used to prevent the operation of the system from becoming abnormal on the whole. |
