Multipin socket plug housing with hinged access cover - enclosing connection lead contact terminals with plug pins mounted in separate block

The plug housing comprises an injection moulded thermoplastics block (1), from which the plug pins extend, with the connection leads coupled to respective contact terminals and projecting from the block (1) perpendicular to the insertion directions for the plug pins. The contact terminals are enclosed by a snap-fitted hinged cover (17), which can be released to allow access for wiring the connection leads etc. The face of the block (1) receiving the contact terminals is formed with individual compartments (3) for the latter, while its opposite face is formed to interfit with a separate block retaining the plug pins, so that each of these is coupled with one of the contact terminals.
