Pref. the fabric rope is passed a number of times through the succession of chambers. Pref. the rinsing liq. is discharged from the succession of chambers in a progressive manner. Alternatively a number of chambers may be used as rinsing chamber and a further number of chambers may be used as depositing chambers. Pref. the top of each chamber is provided with a succession of rollers and the rollers in association with a further roller serve as squeegee rollers for the rope passing between the chambers. Progressive emptying of the chambers of the rinsing liquid may be effected by discharge valves and the rinsing of the rope may be effected by spraying using sprays.
