The razor has a cutting plate, and cutting elements movable relative to it. Front blades, which are fastened to the front of the cutting elements, are displaceable spring-loaded relative to the latter, and also serving as hair lifting elements. Each front blade has an edge section, with an edge penetrating the hair to be cut. After gripping the hair, the edge is pushed along the edge of the cutting element.
