<p>1. Painting booth for automotive vehicles and other articles or objects, of the kind comprising an enclosed room (50, 65, 70) in which is placed the object (51) to be painted, a ventilation circuit providing an air circulation within said enclosed room (50, 65, 70), means for cleaning the ventilation air issuing from the enclosed space, means for building up an enclosing air area (62) about the object (51) to be painted with a preferential vertical circulation direction from top to bottom and a substantially uniform velocity, including a pulsed air blast box (19) fed with outside air and opening into said enclosed room above the object (51) to be painted and an air outlet passage-way or pit (54, 67, 71) extending at least below the object to be painted and connected to said air cleaning means, characterized in that said blast box (19) is fed with air by a pulsed air generator such as a compressor, a blower or the like (52) feeding pulsed air into an air pre-expanding duct (16) and then into a divergent passage-way (17) to convert the turbulent air-flow provided by the generator (52) into a laminar flow and at last into said blast box (19) having a shape adapted to uniformly distribute the air throughout the enclosed room to be ventilated for providing a uniform laminar air-flow, said outlet pit (54, 67, 71) comprising inclined air-flow control flaps (56, 67, 71) arranged at its inlet and which may be distributed underneath the outline of the object (51) to be painted to provide for a vertical ventilation of said enclosed room (60, 65, 70), suction means (58) being connected to said air outlet pit (54, 67, 71) to keep the booth under a slight overpressure with respect to the atmospheric pressure and build up about the object to be painted an air-flow velocity higher than a least value determined by the regulations in force.</p> |
