A table light (2) with a support (26) and a housing (21) which surrounds a tubular fluorescent lamp (20) and a reflector arrangement, and in whose light outlet aperture there is arranged a grid provided with transverse laminations (25) that extend transversely with respect to the longitudinal axis of the housing, wherein the support (26) and the housing (21) are so designed that the longitudinal edges of the light outlet aperture and the fluorescent lamp (20) run parallel to the plane of the table, the distance of the lower longitudinal edge of the housing from the plane of the table having a value from 50 to 85 cm, and the light outlet plane which passes through the longitudinal edges of the light outlet aperture forms an acute angle with respect to the plane of table, which angle opens towards the centre of the table, and wherein the reflector arrangement possesses a top reflector (22) extending above the fluorescent lamp (20) and which possesses a main radiation direction of 40 degrees +- 10 degrees relative to the horizontal and further possesses a rear reflector (23) whose main radiation direction corresponds approximately to that of the top reflector (22), characterised in that one single rectangular, flat additional reflector (24) which also has a reflective upper surface (240) is arranged parallel to the fluorescent lamp (20) between the latter and the upper housing longitudinal edge (211) with an angle of inclination (beta) relative to the horizontal which is up to 15 degrees smaller than the angle (vtheta) of the main radiation direction (220) of the top reflector (22), and wherein the width of the additional reflector (24) is such that the fluorescent lamp (20) is entirely covered above the requisite screening angle and wherein its upper longitudinal edge (241) lies on or above a boundary line (204) which runs through the upper housing longitudinal edge (211) with the inclination of the screening angle. |
