Crystalline-liquid substances comprise compounds of the general formulae <IMAGE> wherein R<1> = Br-, C1-, CnH2n+1-, CnH2n+10- with n = 1 to 10, R<2> = CnH2n+1- with n = 2 to 10, R<3> = CnH2n+1-, CnH2n+10- with n = 1 to 10 R<4> = CnH2n+1-, CnH2n+10- with n = 1 to 10 They are obtained by reactions involving the formation of the tetrazine ring. Further crystalline-liquid or non- crystalline-liquid substances, especially colouring substances, can be mixed with the substances according to the invention. They are useful in electro- optical devices. |
