An amorphous alloy of high magnetic permeability, having a general formula; (TyNbxA1-x-y)100-zXz where, "A" is at least one kind selected from the group consisting of 0.5 to 10 atomic % of V, Ta, Ti, Zr, Cr, Mo, W and 0.5 to 30 atomic % of Ni based on the total amount of T, Nb and A, "T" is at least one element selected from the group of Fe and Co, "X" is B or B+Si, the amount of Si being at most 25 atomic % based on the total amount of the alloy, "x" ranges between 0.005 and 0.1, "y" ranges between 0.5 and 0.99, and "z" ranges between 15 and 35, with the proviso of 0.005</=1-x-y</=0.4.
