The rotary dredger cutter head (11) for cutting soil below water level, comprises a hub (5) carrying a number of radially extending cutter blades (4) forwardly curved in axial planes. The space (7) between the blades is covered by a fixed top plate (3) with eccentric opening (8) connected to a suction tube (2). A baffle plate (10) arranged in the space (7) extends along the radially inward rim (8a) of the opening from the top plate (3), to which it is fixed, in downward direction towards the hub. The downward end (10a) of the baffle pref. lies between two axially parallel lines (x, y) through the radially inward point of the tube (2) and its centre line (y) respectively.
