PURPOSE:To improve visibility by enhancing the emitted light output of a light emission diode according to the detection of a detector which detects that sun light directly projects upon a display element. CONSTITUTION:In a time zone T2 early afternoon when the direct rays of the sun light of the westering sun project upon the display dots, the direct rays of light project upon a photoelectric converging element 11, as well in the same way and the output level of the photoelectric converting element 11 instantaneously exceeds an output level L1 and the direct rays of light detection signal of a logic value '1' is outputted from a setting circuit 12. A light emission diode control circuit 13 where the signal is inputted switches the emitted light output of a red light emission diode 14 to a high output. And to the display dot 1 which allows only a yellow green light emission diode 15 to emit light and output, the red color emission diode 14 is added to emit the light with faint output besides the yellow green light emission diodes 15. Thus, the visibility can be improved.
