PURPOSE:To improve the working accuracy of the cross-sectional and contour shapes of a worked piece by arranging a guide device which supports the wire electrodes before and after the worked piece is worked and reducing the bore of the electrode supporting section of the guide device after work smaller than that before work. CONSTITUTION:The wire electrode 2 is consumed due to the discharge against the worked piece 4 and the diameter of the wire electrode 5 after discharge becomes narrower than the electrode 2. Accordingly, by reducing the diameter of the electrode supporting section 11 after work smaller than that of the electrode supporting section 3 before work, both the dimensional difference 9 of the diameter of the electrode 2 before discharge and the bore of the wire electrode support section of the lower guide 3 and that 9 of the diameter of the electrode 5 in the upper guide 11 which supports the electrode 5 after discharge and the bore of the wire electrode support section of the guide 11 can be kept in almost the same value. As a result, the working accuracy of the cross-sectional and contour shapes of the worked piece is improved. |
