PURPOSE:To obtain a flame light photometer of a good reproducibility through a stable burner which is not affected by a fan by using a chimney of a type wherein the inner diamter of the top portion is smaller than that of the bottom portion. CONSTITUTION:The flame light photometer comprises a combustion assisting gas inlet 4, a combustible inlet 9, a sample 14, a fan 18, a spectroscope 23 and like, and light generated by the flame 16 is introduced into a spectroscope 23 where the concentrations of Na, K, Li are measured. Upon this occasion, when the flame 16 flickers by wind, it entails a measurement error. In order to prevent this, heretofore a wire net has been placed on the cylindrical chimney. However, the consumption of the wire net has been heavy due to the high temperature of 800 deg.C. When a conical chimney 20 is used, the wind of a fan 18 does not infiltrate in the inner part, the wire net becomes unnecessary. By this organization, there is not need to carry periodical surveillance and exchange of the chimney, and therefore a stable measurement is possible. |
