PURPOSE:To reduce abnormal internal pressure and provide a self fire-extinguishing function, by breaking a pressure release film to instantaneously reduce the internal pressure when it abnormally rises beyond a prescribed level and by slowly reducing the pressure without breaking the pressure release film when the pressure rises below the prescribed level. CONSTITUTION:A gas release passage 7 and the internal space 11 of a container are always connected to each other through an orifce-like bypass 10 provided in a pressure release cylinder 6 and the cross-sectional area of the bypass 10 is set so that a time lag is established for a pressure change, due to the rise in internal pressure, to be transmitted to the release passage 7 through the bypass 10. As a result, a pressure release film 2 is broken and gas ejected through an aperture opens a pressure release valve 5 and is released into the atmosphere when the internal pressure sharply rises beyond a prescribed level in an accident. If the internal pressure rises below the prescribed level, the pressure release film is not broken. In that case, the pressure release port 3 is opened and the gas is slowly released through the bypass 10 when the pressure becomes stronger than the spring pressure of the valve 5. When the internal pressure becomes lower than the spring pressure, the pressure release valve 5 is automatically returned to shut off a gas passage to perform secondary disaster prevention such as fire extinguishment. |
