PURPOSE:To produce a high image signal output from a charge injecting device by forming two electrodes and additionally a fine electrode in the charge injecting device and controlling the well of potential produced in a semiconductor region under the electrodes. CONSTITUTION:When a number of picture elements are formed through an insulating film on a semiconductor substrate and a charge injecting device is formed by combining the picture elements and a decoder, the picture elements are formed as follows: That is, an insulating film 21 is coated on the substrate, two electrodes 2X, 2Y are formed thereon, and fine electrodes 2W are formed therebetween so that the respective electrodes are electrically independent of each other. Thus, the same high voltage is applied to the electrodes 2X, 2Y, and lower voltage is applied to the electrode 2W to form a bank 3c of potential due to the electrode 2W between the wells 3a and 3b of the potential produced between the electrodes 2X and 2Y. Then, a light shielding film 22 is coated on the electrodes 2X and 2Y, and the electrode 2Y is used as a light receiving window W. |
