PURPOSE:To localize the effect of hardware failure of volume by allocating the volume only having the possibility of actual access in the job. CONSTITUTION:When the operator starts the job, the application program issues the instruction to open the data base. The data base managing system DBMS recognizes the sub-schemers SBS1 and SBS2 used by taking the job environment description name as key. Further, DBMS takes the names B, C, D and A, B, E in the sub- schemer as key and follows the logical construction-storage construction-physical construction in the schemer, checks the volume to be allocated as VOL2, VOL3, VOL1, VOL2, VOL4 and the sum set of them VOL1, VOL2, VOL3, VOL4 are allocated. The effect from the failure in VOL5, VOL6 can be avoided. |
