<p>The fitting uses a wedging action to obtain a grip on the cable, and may be used to suspend power lines for electrically propelled vehicles. Two wedge shaped pieces (3, 4) are connected by a strap (5), the housing (3) having a T-shape in elevation. The bar is tapered, has a C section with a flat invert, and may include circumferential stiffening ribs (6). The stem has a threaded tip (19). The secondary piece (4) is longitudinally tapered and has a concave top edge (16) with asperities. A cable is wedge between the edge and the key -way (7) roof, and an elastic tongue latch (18) may engage a notch (17) to secure the assembly.</p> |
