The collapsible prop is used to support an automobile once jacked clear of the ground and uses a pin-jointed tripod to support a two piece telescopically adjustable pillar. An outer sleeve (1) locates an inner slidable sleeve (13). Outer sleeve tongue plates (2) at 120 deg. intervals provide for the pin jointing of three identical 'T' section legs (3). Three radial top straps (8) prevent the legs from spreading. The outer extremity of a strap is pinned (7) in each foot. V-shaped plates (10) subtending 120 deg. obtain a central triple pin-(12) jointing of the converging internal extremities of each strap. The unit collapses by folding the legs onto the pillar, with the straps converging and sliding into the sleeve (13).
