<p>The sleeve is used to repair "stripped" threads in a cylinder head, using spark plugs sealing onto a tapered annular seat. The lightly tapered sleeve is inserted into an enlarged and retapped spark plug hole, of D, in the cylinder head. The inner dia. d and the pitch of the inner thread (2) of the sleeve are matched to that of the spark plug to be inserted. The annular groove (6) allows deformation of the sleeve as the spark plug is screwed down, to ensure a good seal.</p> |
