The extractor has a handle and a cutting head. The cutting head includes opposed cutting edges initially spaced from each other to define an access opening and rearwardly convergent so as to meet each other. An ovary may be severed from its supporting vessels by manipulating the supporting vessels into the access opening and onto the exposed cutting edges. The cutting head incorporates a support for supporting a pair of replaceable blades such as scalpel blades which have cutting edges forming a respective exposed cutting edge. The support is a cover plate and a support plate which is a frontward extension of the handle.
