PURPOSE:To perform desulfurization in a molten iron vessel, such as ladle, perfectly without leaving slag by blowing the fine powder CaC2 coated with organic material further into the molten iron having undergone desulfurization treatment with calcium oxide and metal Al. CONSTITUTION:Desulfurization treatment is applied to the molten iron in a molten iron vessel, such as ladle or mixer car, by adding calcium oxide (e.g.; CaO) metal Al desulfurizing agent of 1-10kg per ton of the molten iron. The calcium oxide in this desulfurizing agent is made 40-80% in CaO equivalent and the Al 20-50% in pure content equivalent metal. Next, the fine CaC2 powder coated with organic material of 0.2-3kg per ton of the molten iron is blown into the molten iron as desulfurized, whereby the desulfurization is completed. Fine powder of 0.1mm or less is used for the CaC2 of this case. E.g., an inert solvent solution of benzene or the like, such as heavy oil, is used for the organic material for coating. |
