PURPOSE:A mutant strain, which is formed by culturing a microorganism belonging to Brevibacterium in a medium containing L-valine or L-leucine as a nitrogen resource, is cultured to produce L-lysine. CONSTITUTION:A mutant strain belonging to Brevibacterium or Corynebacterium and producing L-lysine, which shows higher growth rate than the new mold, when cultured using only L-valine or L-leucine as the nitrogen resource, e.g., mutant AJ-11324 (FERM-4855) derived from Brevibacterium lactofermentum AJ-3990, is inoculated in an enriched medium and the aerated cultivation is conducted at 24-37 deg.C and 5.0-9.0pH to accumulate L-lysine formed in the medium, which is collected. |
