Pipeline stop valve assembly - has plug trunnions in bearings formed by concentric spherical section rings

The stop valve is for pipelines for liq. and gaseous substances. It has a spherical rotary plug in a housing coupled by flanges into the pipe. Trunnions on the plug work in bearings in the housing. Each bearing (14, 15) is of the spherical type, formed by spherical-section rings (16, 17) working one inside the other and fitting concentrically round the respective trunnion (9, 10). The ring roung the trunnion can be convex, fitting in a concave one in the housing.
