<p>Coupling for tubes, esp. those made of polyethylene, nylon or PVC, is based on a union and a unit nut. The tube end is pushed into the socket of the union and held captive in it by screwing in the union nut. The sealing pressure is exerted by an O-ring, a washer and a split wedge-shaped ring with internal sawtooth serrations. The latter bite into the tube surface and ensure a reliable and durable seal. Coupling is easy to assemble and to dismantle and permits all parts to be re-used repeatedly.</p> |
