<p>The multiple socket has a disabling circuit that prevents all its sockets being supplied with current unless its main socket is connected to a load -- i.e. is carrying a load current. Which means: when the equipment connected to the main socket is switched on, the supplies to all the other pieces of equipment connected to the other sockets are switched on at the same time. The disabling circuit consists essentially of a relay (Re)(or triac) connected in series between one incoming supply pole and one contact of the main socket (4). The relay's contacts (S) connect the supply through to all the parallel-coupled dependent sockets (5). (A cable with a plug attached is fitted to the multiple socket).</p> |
